Grilled Flathead Lake Trout Marinade

  • ¼ cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 tbsp. apple cider or white vinegar
  • 1 tbsp. lime juice
  • 2 tsp. honey or sugar
  • 2 cloves minced garlic
  • ½ tsp. cumin
  • ½ tsp. chili powder
  • 1 tsp. seafood seasoning
  • ½ tsp. ground black pepper
  • 1 tsp. hot pepper sauce
  • 1 lb. Filet of Flathead Lake Trout
  1. Combine all ingredients until dissolved
  2. Poor into 11×9 baking dish
  3. lay fillets skin side up in a single layer on top of marinade
  4. Cover and refrigerate (2-12 hours)
  5. Preheat grill to 400
  6. Grill skin side down 7 minutes, flip and grill 2 minutes
  7. Grilled Flathead Lake trout is done when it flakes easily

Note: We use Flathead Lake Lake Trout because that is mostly what we catch. This would be good on any fish for the Grill.

Leftovers are great for Trout fish sandwiches.  Make just as you would Tuna fish.
